Mission Statement
The program is designed to empower young girls by equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive both independently and collaboratively in cooperative learning environments. It offers valuable opportunities for interaction with tutors, mentors, and esteemed professionals from The Ivy League of South Gwinnett Foundation Inc., The Alpha Alpha Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and from the Brookwood, Grayson, Parkview, Shiloh, and South Gwinnett clusters.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
The Tea Rose Mentoring Program aims to empower and support young girls in the 6th to 8th grades from Brookwood, Grayson, Parkview, Shiloh, and South Gwinnett clusters. With a focus on mentorship and guidance, this program offers valuable opportunities for personal growth, education, and community engagement. Recruitment: Specifically targeting 6th to 8th graders, the program addresses the critical transitional phase of early adolescence, where mentorship and guidance are invaluable.
Program Structure: The Tea Rose Mentoring Program pairs each participant with two dedicated women mentors. This mentorship approach ensures personalized attention, and fostering meaningful relationships between mentors and mentees. The monthly sessions provide a consistent platform for engagement and development.
Age-Appropriate Curriculum: The monthly sessions are designed to address age-appropriate needs crucial for engaging and impacting the participants in their personal, social and academic environment. HOW TO APPLY?
The Tea Rose mentoring program application will be available July 13, 2024 and will close August 31, 2024. Enrollment will be capped at 25 participants. Applications will only be accepted online (we do not accept paper applications).
